Monument record 757/0/2 - Possible Iron Age Roundhouses & Storage Pits

{1} In the western field at least five circular features were clearly visible within the enclosure, almost certainly the gullies of round houses. Three similar features were also visible in the eastern field.

{2} The magnetometer survey revealed the footprints of at least fourteen roundhouses, ranging in diameter from 7 to 14m, with small and large structures apparently grouped together and hugging the interior of the ramparts. Where entrances could be defined, these all faced towards the east.

{3} Internal features include eight roundhouses and four grain storage pits, for details see the 2003 archaeological report included in the Appendices.
