Full Description

{1} Although no archaeological features associated with occupation were found during archaeological evaluation, Prehistoric pottery was present in one of the tree throws in trench 2b. This would suggest that occupation was nearby, using the tree throw for refuse disposal, or, alternatively; that the pottery may have been refuse generated by the short-term use of the tree throw, for example as a temporary working shelter.
{2} A small number of worked flints, prehistoric and Roman pottery sherds were recovered from the topsoil and the remains of the subsoil.
Unstratified pottery from the Iron Age, Roman (and post medieval and modern) periods was found across the site. The Iron Age anmd Roman pottery was mostly from the northern end of the site, together with the worked flint.
