Full Description

{1} Geophysical survey identified a small number of positive linear and curvilinear anomalies of potential archaeological origin in the southwest corner of the field surveyed. Responses are weak with little magnetic contrast overall and these intermittent linear and curvilinear responses remain difficult to interpret. However, their alignment differs from that of the extant and known removed boundaries, so they may represent something of greater antiquity.

{2} A number of probable enclosures and other associated features such as postholes were identified during the trial trench excavation. An area around trenches 1-4 was indicative of an area of intensive activity with a number of ditches, pits and postholes containing late Iron Age pottery.

{3} Geophysical survey identified a further partial immediately to the west of the features identified above.
