Full Description

{2} The enclosure measured 93m north to south by at least 63m east to west (the eastern edge lay beyond the edge of the survey area). Excavation confirmed the enclosure ditches to be complex and extensive and over 1m deep. There was also evidence from one of the trenches of buried Roman subsoils and archaeological features concealed below them. Abundant pottery from the enclosures suggests a late 1st-mid-2nd century AD date.
There were numerous internal features identified by the geophysical survey but not investigated by the trial trench investigation
