Monument record 5089/0/4 - Prehistoric Pit Alignment

Pit alignment traced for c20m

{2} Pit alignment, at least 40m long and aligned south-west to north-east. Sherds of pottery and a Mesolithic flint microlith were recovered from the upper fill of one pit.

{3} Pit Alignment PA2 comprised eleven pits, aligned south-west to north-east, totalling c.40m long . The pit alignment respects the Bronze Age boundary ditch (HER no 5089/0/2). The pit alignment stopped 4.4m short of the eastern edge of excavation, perhaps either suggesting that it was a short length of pit alignment or that there was a break in the pit alignment similar to a gap seen in PA3.
