Full Description

{1}In Field 4, at the eastern extremity of the site, there were six postholes in Trench 90 and two postholes in Trench 93. Posthole [9004] was 0.40m in diameter and 0.17m deep with near vertical sides and a flat base, with pottery dating to the Iron Age. The other five postholes visible in this trench were between 0.15-0.30m in diameter all with very similar fills and on an approximate north to south alignment. Posthole [9307] in trench 93 was c.0.30m in width and c.0.10m in depth, pottery dating to the Iron Age was also recovered from the fill. The location of these postholes corresponds with results from the fieldwalking element of the Raunds Area Project which found Iron Age pottery in the vicinity of these trenches (Parry 2006).
