Monument record 7797/0/10 - Roman subrectangular ditched enclosure

A subrectangular enclosure with a possible stone founded roundhouse in the south-west corner

{3} A large sub-rectangular enclosure measuring 50m by c 66m, cut the east side of EN4. The ditch was up to 3.00m wide and 0.72m deep.

In the south-west corner of the enclosure were traces of a circular structure or enclosure, 19m in diameter. This was defined on its south-west side by a segment of near vertical sided trench, 0.72m wide and 0.50m deep, filled with limestone. Five shallow curvilinear features also filled with limestone and of a similar width, but more shallow, appeared to form the remainder of the enclosure. A possible entrance was located on its north side.
