Full Description

{1} The evaluation by trial trenching on land at Church Close, Braybrooke identified some undated, linear archaeological features and finds of prehistoric, Roman and Saxon date, in two trenches to the south-east. The presence of burnt clay the fill of one of the ditches may represent debris from burnt wattle and daub structures in the vicinity.

{2} A single undated ditch was revealed in the northern part of the development area. It was 7m + in length and sealed by the subsoil. The form and nature of its fill would perhpas suggest a modern date.
