Full Description

{1} These works appear to have been opened about 1910 and worked untii about 1945. They were operated by William T. Asplin. They produced a plain wire-cut brick of a blood-red coloUr, but the machine on which they were produced was of some interest. Instead of using an archimedean screw to force the clay through the die, there-was a power driven piston. Thus it was the automated equivalent of that at Raunds (q.v.) The works area, which is on the opposite side of the road to the older part of the
Milton Sand workings, is now a yard for Kottler-Heron (Contractors).
