Full Description

{1} Two brickworks in the village, both are shown on the 1883 and 1901 6" maps but only one brick maker (James and later Joseph Bonsor) is shown in the directories. The Bonsor family (see Hollowell) operated here from 1849 to 1910 at least. Both pits are small and had a single kiln.
