Full Description

{1} Trial trench evaluation on the Broad Green frontage did not find significant evidence of medieval occupation, although a small group of postholes/pits was identified. The pottery was badly water-damaged, but largely dated to between c1250-1400. It seems likely that these features are associated with the activity immediately to the north-east.

{2} Excavation found several more shallow medieval features. They were irregular in plan and form and were more suggestive of planting holes. They did, however, contain large quantities of pottery dating to between c1250 and 1350. A shallow gully may have been a property boundary.
