Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
The original form of the building has been absorbed by later alterations. It may have replaced a medieval one, however, no material evidence remains. The brickwork of which the building is chiefly composed, appears to be of the early 1700s.

Full Description
{1} Analysis.
The roof has been raised and internal partitions reorganised. The original extent of the length along the street is difficult to assess. Bricks to front elevation 2 1/4 ins by 9 ins. No dateable details remain. Internal width measurement taken: 4.4m.
These two cottages remain in the ownership of one family. The owner of number 73 remembers his father raising the roof. At that time there were no mains water or drainage services. The informant was also able to give general descriptions of some of the 'missing cottages' at 67, 69, & 71 High Street, which were simple buildings: 'demolished because they had no back doors'.
