Full Description
{1} Analysis, plan & photographs
A narrow building, internally 3m wide. Three rooms in line with further 20th century additions. The whole building is covered in a pebble-dashed and painted render. Window and door openings have been considerably altered. The west wall of the main building is in stone and the east wall in hand-made brick.
There is substantial hearth in the main room. A shallow recess may indicate a lost bread oven. The bressumer is chamfered with a simple run-out stop.
The most southerly bay, the kitchen, is built entirely of brick and has three re-used oak timbers potentially of a pre-1700 date.
Locally reported as the 'shepherd's cottages' with doors onto the field side but not to the road.
