Full Description

{1} A small excavation prior to development identified a number of late Iron Age-Roman features, including two possible ditches aligned north-east to south-west. Pottery from these features was largely late Iron Age/early Roman in date.
To the north-east was a large amorphous complex of features, including a linear feature cut by a possible pit, the base of which lay beyond the edge of excavation. Pottery from these features dated to the mid-late 1st to 2nd centuries AD.
Samples taken from the features were very sparse suggesting the features were peripheral from the main focus of activity or were enclosed areas used primarily for pastoral purposes.
