Full Description

{1} Archaeological trial trench excavation in 2001 identified a medieval pit/ditch terminal and ditch which both date to 1150-1400. The relative sparsity of features suggests that the site did not lie in the heart of the medieval settlement. There was extensive post-medieval activity on the site including demolition evidence from earlier cottages, three postholes, three pits, including a dog burial and a small gully.
