Summary

The site of a small shoe factory and workshop that dates from circa 1875.It is located on the north side of Duke Street. After 1890 this site seems to have been used as a last works. A two-storey, two-bay building; directory evidence indicates mulitple occupancy

1896: William Johnson, Boot maker; Miss Eleanor Burrows, machine closer
1899: Frontage building marked 'Coal 1st [floor]'
1905: Boot factory
1928: Shop; detached range demolished;
1999: Residential use
