Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Geophysical survey in 2012 identified an area of magnetic disturbance. Subsequent trial trench excavation revealed demolition material associated with an isolated building, probably a field barn, depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map. It had been demolished by 1900, probably in connection with the construction of the Great Central Railway immediately to the west.

Full Description
{1} Trench 32 was located within an area of magnetic disturbance highlighted by the geophysical survey. This disturbance appears to relate to demolition material associated with the building recorded on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1885. Stone foundation walls of both the building and surrounding enclosure/yard were identified.
