Summary

A yard to the rear of 36 West Street contains the footings of a former Baptist Chapel which is said to have been built in 1840 as a Calvinistic Chapel. Built of rubble and survives as rectangular foundation walls approximately 9m long on the north - south axis and by 6m east to west.

Full Description

{1} A yard to the rear of 36 West Street contains the footings of a former Baptist Chapel (9mx6m approx) which is said to have been built in 1840 as a Calvinistic Chapel. In 1844 a newly built cottage, presumably No 36, was surrendered to RH Ireson, a Dissenting Minister; the cottage and chapel were then mortgaged.

{2} The remains of a Baptist chapel. The chapel was built during 1840 of rubble and survives as rectangular foundation walls approximately 9m long on the north - south axis and by 6m east to west. It is not known if the surviving walls are freestanding or buried features.
