Summary

A 17th century house with early 19th century alterations located to the south of West Street. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with a double pitch Welsh slate roof. Two-storey main range and lower cross wing.

Full Description

{1}No 59, two-storey main range and lower cross wing, was built in the 17th century. The cross wing was originally single storey and is the earlier; it has a wide fireplace and bread oven. The main range was rebuilt and extended in several stages in the 17th century; the north front has several set backs but the south front is uniform, with early 19th-century openings. The east gable has two windows with chamfered jambs and original leaded glazing blocked externally. Internally the range was remodelled as a class 6a house ( central entrance house with two gable stacks and central stairway with entrance hall) with reeded joinery c1825.
