Full Description
{1} Trial trench excavation undertaken ahead of Phase 1B of the A43 Moulton Bypass identified a potential Saxon sunken-featured building. The trench was extended to reveal the full extent of the feature; it was sub-ovoid in shape, c3m east to west by 2.95m north to south. It was partially excavated. The uppermost fill contained fragments of animal bone, pottery and a bone pin beater of likely early to middle Saxon date.
