Full Description

{1} Say's Copse is now represented by a triangular block of woodland abutting west onto Paulerspury road, which was straightened in the 19th century. The medieval coppice formerly extended west into fields which are now ploughed. The southern medieval coppice bank and ditch is well preserved along the whole of the ride separating Say's Copse from Smalladine Copse. The sinuous eastern boundary of the woodland is also medieval in origin and well preserved, with a large internal bank and external ditch. An early NS ride running parallel to the eastern bundary was clearly visible but this not appear to have ancient origins.
