Monument record 6904/0/30 - Medieval/post-medieval hollow ways, east of The Willows House

An area of intersecting medieval or post-medieval hollow ways and trackways is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data. Located in fields ENE of The Willow House, a curvilinear ditch extends from the junction with the bridleway and Brooks Road at The Willow House for about 465 metres WSW-NE. Blocks of medieval or post-medieval ridge and furrow cultivation abut the features both south and north. The earthwork features have been plough-levelled in the post-war period.

An area of intersecting medieval or post-medieval hollow ways and trackways is visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. Located in two fields about 250 metres ENE of Willow Farm House and centred at TL 00864 73619, a curvilinear ditch extends from the junction with the bridleway and Brooks Road at The Willow House for about 465 metres WSW-NE. Blocks of medieval or post-medieval ridge and furrow cultivation abut the features both south and north and the hollow way appears to cross through a block of former ridge and furrow at the NE end. The earthwork features have been plough-levelled in the post-war period.
