Full Description

{1} Geophysical survey was undertaken as part of HS2. A faint curvilinear anomaly formed of two features, likely would have been a more complete oval feature approximately 42 m in diameter. This is probably evidence of a ditched enclosure, possibly relating to the Iron Age and Romano-British settlement activity seen to the north.

{2} Archaeological observation of a pipeline trench identified an alignment of stone interpreted as a possible stone wall. This was located in the area of the possible Iron Age/Roman activity.
