Full Description
{1} During geophysical survey of the area, farmers pointed out an aircraft crash site to the MOLA surveyors all indicating locations broadly east of High Hayden Farm and north of Lodge Farm. It is recorded that a Boeing B17 (serial 43-38291, KY-N) crashed on take-off from Chelveston Airfield on 15th February 1945, coming at 'High Hayden Lodge'. It was piloted by Charles V Bush and his crew, of whom two died and nine were injured {2}.
A probable debris field from the crash in an area c50m across was detected.
