Full Description

{1} The owners of the quarry were Towcester Mineral & Brick Co Ltd. The first written record for the site dates to 1909 when the owners applied to the Stratford-upon-Avon and Midland Junction Railway for a siding to be put in, which was opened for traffic on 27th September 1909. On 13th June 1918 it was reported that the ironstone was worked out and the siding was closed. The system was only a small one, and permission was refused to expand it under The Round Plantation.
