Full Description

{1} Archaeological observation identified a large ditch aligned north-east to south-west. The majority of the pottery assemblage dates to the 12th century, although 11th-century pottery suggests that the ditch was dug in this period. Redeposited bank material in the ditch fills suggests there was a bank on its western side. The ditch appears to have silted up naturally over a long period of time.
