Summary

The Cottingham Road Bridge was built as part of the Midland Railway's Kettering to Manton line in 1879. The Cottingham Road Bridge is a brick-built underbridge of a standard design, with slightly projecting raking and straight wing walls. The London stock brickwork has been patched in various areas with engineering brick and both parapets appear to have been entirely rebuilt.

Full Description

{1} English Heritage is assessing Cottingham Road Bridge (GSMI 17) at Corby Station prior to the electrification of the Midland Main Line railway between Bedford and Sheffield in 2014-20 by Network Rail. It is being considered during Phase I of a designation project, assessing all undesignated structures on the line. The bridge is sited close to the boundary of the Old Village Conservation Area. Cottingham Road Bridge does not meet the criteria for listing and is not recommended for designation.
