Full Description
{1} A small estate of houses was built in 1915 by LNWR in connection with its new sleeper and permanent way depot, which was located alongside the railway in Far Cotton. The estate comprises nineteen houses; eightpairs of semi-detached workers cottages, one pair of semi-deteched manager's houses and a single detached house for the yard master. The road was named after Sir Gilbert Claughton, chairman of the company at that time.
