Full Description

{1} Former Gas Works, Park Walk, once known as Gas Drift, established in 1863 at a cost of £ 1525 (Whellan), consists of a manager's house and retort house. The latter, with a tall round-headed window, has been lowered and is now flanked by lean-to compartments.

{3} The Easton Gas & Coke Co Ltd was formed in 1865 with the gasworks supplied and erected by George Bower of St Neots. In 1915 gas was being made from coal using a horizontal retort and the gasworks had a single gasholder. Closed in 1933 and the gasworks were sold as scrap.
