Abstract/Summary

This Gazetteer provides a list of sites on which gas was manufactured or stored and which either provided a public or private gas supply. Counties are represented as recorded in the first series of the Ordnance Survey Maps and Victoria Counties Index, rather than current county boundaries. This is except for London which has been based on current London Borough, however, this data is also replicated in the historical counties indexes.
