Please read our guidance about the use of Northamptonshire Historic Environment Record data.
Summary
Archaeological observation of groundworks for two new houses in 2021 identified a number of shallow boundary/enclosure ditches dating to the 1st to 3rd centuries AD along with a pit of the same date. The features are likely to be a continuation of Roman settlement found immediately to the south-west.

Full Description
{1} Archaeological observation was undertaken during the excavation of footings for two new houses in 2021. There were number of shallow ditches aligned broadly east to west and two aligned NNE-SSW, as well as a single pit, all dating to the Romano-British period. The pottery assemblage from the site was small but perhaps of a higher status than the average rural site. One of the jars found was a miniature indicating perhaps a ritualistic aspect- possibly a ?disturbed grave.
