Full Description

{1} Geophysical survey identified a north-south aligned linear feature.

{2} A small excavation was undertaken to 'ground truth' the nature of the linear feature. A length of ditch was excavated which corresponded to the geophysical anomaly. A small amount of Roman pottery was found in the ditch fills. No other features were identified within the excavation area. While the ditch may be associated with Roman settlement located to the south-east, it is likely that it is an isolated field boundary located away from settlement.
