Summary
Cropmarks of a possible large Iron Age or Roman square ditched settlement enclosure located to the south-west of Warmington which is visible on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording programme. The western third is cut by the course of a lane, the course of a former Roman road which heads NE into Warmington.

{1} Cropmarks of a possible large Iron Age or Roman square ditched settlement enclosure c. 75m x 75m which is located at TL 0725 9044 to the south-west of Warmington.The western third is cut by the course of a lane, the course of a former Roman road which heads NE ito Warmington, possibly indicating the enclosure pre-dates the Roman road. The cropmark traces of medieval ridge and furrow can be seen overlying this western portion of the enclosure. The site is visible on aerial photographs taken in 2015 as part of the Historic England Reconnaissance Recording programme.
