Full Description

{2} Trial trench excavation undertaken ahead of HS2 recorded a potential enclosure, initially identified by geophysical survey. Ditches were identified in three, possibly five trenches. Pottery dating to the early Roman period was found in two of the ditches.

{3} Excavation was limited by ecological restrictions and so, only one L-shaped ditch was recovered. The ditch had late Iron Age pottery.
