Abstract/Summary

Three areas were excavated with the results of the archaeological works indicating activity primarily dating from the Iron Age to the Roman-British period. An Iron Age D-shaped enclosure was uncovered with middle-late Iron Age pottery recovered from a range of features within the interior including pits and a ring-ditch defined structure. A further ditch was uncovered to the northeast with the assessment of the pottery assemblage suggesting a late Iron Age date. A possible Roman enclosure system defined by numerous intercutting, re-cut and truncated ditches was also revealed.
