Full Description

{1} - The farmhouse has a north-east to south-west range alongside Deenethorpe Lane, which has three stories. The second floor appears to have acted as the servants' quarters. The first floor consisted of a series of bedrooms that are reached via a wide staircase leading up from the ground floor. This wide staircase replaced a narrow staircase that was for the servants. On the ground floor, there are two large drawing rooms within the three storey range with a long passage running the entire width of the house with an external door on the NE and SW facing elevations. To the north of this passage is the service range with larder, storeroom and kitchen where the narrow stairs used to be located. A room in the north-eastern corner of the house, currently used as a living room still retains the servant call bells on the wall.

The agricultural buildings form a U-shaped courtyard to the north-west of the farmhouse. The range is built using coursed limestone rubble but with a replacement corrugated sheet roof. The north-western stables are brick-built with a slate roof and likely to be of mid-to late 19th century date as are the similarly built barn, garage and store forming the north-eastern range of buildings. This block is therefore a later addition to the complex. It is not clear if these building replaced an earlier range.
