Summary
Scattered blocks of medieval or post-medieval ridge and furrow cultivation, remnants of the former common open-field system, are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data. Located in the very east of Stanwick parish, the earthworks are generally aligned SW-NE. Remote sensing data and aerial photographs taken in 2018 show that most of the blocks have been plough levelled.

Full Description
{1-4} Scattered blocks of medieval or post-medieval ridge and furrow cultivation, remnants of the former common open-field system, are visible on historic aerial photographs and remote sensing data and were mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. Located in the very east of Stanwick parish and centred at TL 00487 70523, the earthworks are generally aligned SW-NE. Remote sensing data and aerial photographs taken in 2018 show that most of the blocks have been plough levelled. (1-4)
