Summary

The building originated as a part enclosure field barn and shelter shed, part of the Thenford Estate. The limited cartographic sources dates to mid to late 19th century and are fairly common Northamptonshire farm buildings.

Full Description

{1} The building is 'L' shaped in plan and consists of three principal phases: building A forms the northernmost range and is aligned east - west, building B abuts the easternmost gable of A and the northernmost gable of C; building C forms the easternmost range and is aligned north - south.
Building A is an open fronted building under an asymmertrical pitched roof clad in modern Welsh slate. The rear and gable walls are constructed of squared and course local stone. Building B is located in the angle between the two principal ranges. The building is timer built lean to under a corrugated asbestos cement roof, open to the east. Building C is a three bay threshing barn built of local squared and coursed stone under a pitched Welsh slate roof.
