Title | An Archaeological Standing Building Survey: Stone Green Barn, Thenford, Northamptonshire |
Author/Originator | Richards, G |
Date/Year | 2022 |
Abstract/Summary
This document is an archaeological standing building survey of Stone Green Barn, Marston Road, Thenford, Northamptonshire (NGR SP 52602 41447), commissioned from Archaeological Building Recording Services (ABRS) by Thenhurst Agricultural Ltd in advance of the proposed conversion of the buildings to residential use. The building originated as a post enclosure field barn and shelter shed, part of the Thenford Estate, limited cartographic sources indicate that the building dates to the mid to late 19th century and are fairly common Northamptonshire farm buildings. Building C retains its original removable boards suggesting the building has had little modern use and contains a wide variety of drawings and inscriptions dating to the early 20th century. The archive will be retained by ABRS under the temporary site code 2022-SGTN until deposition with Northamptonshire County Council can be arranged under the Event Number ENN110907
