A possible pit dating to the Saxo-Norman period was identified during an archaeological watching brief of geotechnical investigation at St Peter's Waterside in 2014.

Full Description

{1} Archaeological observation was undertaken of a geotechnical investigation in 2014. Five sherds of St Neots Ware were recovered from a deep deposit indicative of a pit fill in the eastern part of the site [Test pit 11]. A small assemblage of animal bone, including cattle and sheep/goat, was also recovered. A further sherd of St Neots Ware was also recovered from a possible cultivation layer higher up in the stratigraphic sequence.
