Full Description
{1} "I judged Weekley camp, which runs around the church, and into part of the Duke of Montagu's Park, to be another Roman camp .... There is here a long deep trench, not improbably the remains of some Roman work. A coin of Nerva well preserved, has been found nearby".
No camp around Weekley Church is visible on APs, though it is possible that the area of the churchyard itself is intended (any inclusion of this into the park would be marked by trees). The long deep trench is probably the same as that described by Bridges (SP 88 SE 15) which appears from APs to be a sunken field way.
{2} There are no surface indications of a camp around Weekley Church; however centred to SP 88748112 is a field road with adjacent rig and furrow and a plough headland.
