Full Description

{1} In 1869 Slipton Quary is mentioned. A lease was granted by William Bruce Stopford of Drayton House for 21 years to Henry Marshall of Derby, who later became manager of the Twywell Iron Ore Company. The lease comprised over 108 acres on the east side of the lane from Slipton village, half a mile towards the Kettering Road.
