Full Description
{1} TVAS undertook archaeological evaluation in 2024 that found two ditches in the south east of the proposed development area, one of Iron Age date and the other of Medieval date. The Iron age ditch contained one sherd of Iron Age pottery, animal bone and fired clay/daub which has led to the belief that it is of Iron Age date, although the material is all very abraded and may be re-deposited. The Medieval ditch contained one sherd of Medieval pottery along with three sherds of Iron Age pottery that were clearly redeposited. Also found in this ditch was animal bone and fired clay.
