Title | Land at Barby Road, Braunston, Daventry, Northamptonshire: An Archaeological Evaluation |
Author/Originator | Josh Hargreaves and Jo Pine |
Date/Year | 2025 |
Abstract/Summary
The evaluation was successfully carried out with some repositioning of trenches. A ditch of likely Iron Age date and a ditch of Medieval date together with an undated gully were recorded in South-eastern part of the site suggesting that this part of the site has some archaeological potential. Elsewhere, the trenching also revealed a post-Medieval ridge and furrow farming system as well as late 19th century to 20th century field boundaries. At least two different systems of ridge and furrow were recored. The large majority parts of the site appears to have low, or no, archaeological potential.
