Building record 1160/0/565 - 72 Kingsthorpe Road

Three storey end-of-terrrace building built between 1884 and 1899. On the southern elevation there is painted text for 'A Smith family grocer' as well as two old signs for Knightley Road.

{1} Locally listed (Knightley Road signage).

{4} Painted sign on the south-east-facing elevation of the two-storey brick building at 72-73 Kingsthorpe Road/Knightley Road. The sign comprises yellow lettering painted directly onto an orange background and bears the inscription 'A. SMITH. FAMILY GROCER'. The sign remains legible despite areas of flaking paintwork. The building has a slate roof and is currently in commercial use as a car rental office. It formerly housed a grocer's business. At the time of recording, works were being undertaken to the rear of the property.
