Full Description

{1} Rescue excavation was undertaken by MOLA for the unexpected discovery of human remains during construction works. The partly disturbed remains of a Bronze Age burial were recorded. Only the skull and part of the spine remained in-situ with the remainder of the human bones and some associated beaker pottery recovered from the nearby spoil heaps. A sample of bone submitted for radiocarbon dating has indicated an early Bronze Age date which is also supported by the pottery.
