Type and Period (1)
Full Description
"{1} The eastern building appears to comprise south and west ranges. Western range present.
{2} The building is labelled 'Leather Works' and appears to be under single ownership.
{3} Factory buildings arranged around a yard; not clear whether they were all in a single ownership prior to 1967. The east building adjoins the former school house for Spring Lane School but seems to be a later build. It is two storey range gable on to the road, constructed of brick with concrete tile roof. String course and cogged eaves. The south and narrow west ranges visible on the 1901 and later OS maps have been demolished. Scars visible on the west range in the yard.
West of the yard is a two bay, two-storey factory building of red brick. Saw tooth roof with Welsh slate. Concrete lintels to windows and doors and circular louvered ventilators in attic. ."
