Monument record 1160/0/602 - Gold Street Methodist Chapel

Summary
Wesleyan Methodist Chapel opened in 1814 to the rear of Gold Street on the north side. An infant school was opened in 1827 immediately to the north on St Katherine Street. There was a burial ground to the east of the church and school. By 1963, both buildings were in use as factories and they had been demolished by 1971.

Full Description
{1, 2, 3} The Methodist chapel, burial ground and Sunday School are last depicted on the 1943 OS map (which was surveyed in 1938). In 1963, both buildings are labelled as factories and by 1972 the site has been cleared.
