Full Description

{1} Geophysical survey was undertaken in 2026. A series of ditch-like and bank-like anomalies, small enclosures, areas of magnetic enhancement and linear trends have been detected in the south of Area 2, extending beyond the limits of the survey area to the south. The responses indicate banks and ditches which broadly coincide with earthworks, visible on LiDAR imagery, though they do not correspond well with features identified as part of the NMP. It is possible that they reflect former houses, tofts or crofts associated with the medieval settlement at Yelvertoft, however the responses appear partially truncated by ridge and furrow and further interpretation is difficult.
