Full Description

{1} A second water mill of less certain origins lay further north in the same valley in Water Mill Field, also served by one of the series of large ponds. Although no evidence survives for the contemporary existence of two medieval water mills, the latter mill may have been in existence at the dissolution for there is reference to the water mill field in 1536. This raises doubts about Baker's identification of the monks mill along the Eydon Road [see HER 600/6].
